The Sixth Grade Concert Band is a performance group in which the major emphasis is placed on learning the fundamental basics of proper instrumental techniques such as rhythms [counting], intonation, tone production, articulation, technique, terminology, musical styles, and responsibilities associated with belonging to a large performance group.  Students will be required to participate in all performances and must attend all sectionals.  Beginners at the middle school level may participate, and will be included as a part of this group.  Beginners are also encouraged to seek private instruction outside of school. Opportunities and materials are available for participation in solo and small ensemble work.  Auditions are given for chair placement within the band.
